2019

SudoLink | Minneapolis, Minnesota

SudoLink, a new program of South Sudan Unite for young professionals, thinkers, doers, and creators in the South Sudanese global diaspora to meet, mentor, share and collaborate. SudoLink aims to empower and give resources to emerging professionals and leaders in various industries. We provide professional development, training, mentoring, peer learning teams, and individual coaching sessions. This is a place for South Sudanese to connect, communicate, and learn from each other while looking to improve their communities.

2018

South Sudan Unite | Phoenix, Arizona

South Sudan Unite (SSU) third annual conference was held in Phoenix, Arizona from June 29 – July 1, 2018. Like every year, the goal was more than sharing fun and information; it intended to highlight, to celebrate and to unite all the people of South Sudan and especially the youth in the diaspora. The Theme of this year’s SSU was Mental Health.

2017

South Sudan Unite | Dallas, Texas

South Sudan Unite (SSU) third annual conference was held in Dallas, Texas from July 21 – 24, 2017. It consisted of four main events: a workshop, a community day festival which included a cultural night, a fashion and arts showcase and a memorable South Sudan flag dedication to the City of Dallas.

2016

South Sudan Unite | Omaha, Nebraska

The 2nd Annual South Sudan Unite (SSU) event held in Omaha, NE was a three-day event that took place on Friday, June 24th, 2016 to Sunday, June 26th, 2016. The first day of SSU 2016 consisted of a youth-led workshop, a community festival, a star-studded cultural event and party with Luol Deng. The purpose of SSU is to create a space where the South Sudanese communities in the United States can unite through the celebration of our rich and diverse culture, find common grounds to address the struggles and expose our talents, creatives and professional attributes.

2015

South Sudan Unite | Washington, DC

The Luol Deng Foundation hosted the first South Sudan Unite on August 29th, 2015 in Washington D.C. The aim of the event is to unite the South Sudanese diaspora in support of peace and reconciliation. The event included live music from five South Sudanese artists, a high-end fashion show, and workshop for future Peace Ambassadors.
